Overview
Welcome to our most exciting summer rugby season
ever. A short overview of the program is
in order. Youth and high school girls’
side practice once a week with youth matches nearly every weekend and high
school boys practice twice a week with 3-4 tournaments throughout the summer. Our goal for the program is to keep our
winter/spring ruggers engaged, develop their 7’s
skills, and have fun. At the same time we
want to introduce new players to the sport we all consider to be the finest
sport in existence. Our philosophy is
rugby is a sport to be played and so we keep all our players on the pitch at
every available opportunity. In addition,
we recognize the factors that bring players out to the rugby pitch (summer
break, off season for a lot of other sports, no school) also lend themselves to
players going on vacations, camps, etc., and so expect player participation to
be intermittent at times. We are also
huge proponents of rugby camps (see ARC Youth Player Welcome Packet for
details on summer rugby camps).
And with that, welcome to ARC summer rugby 7’s.
Following is the guidance for
“How-To” register for ARC youth players. For more detailed information on the
ARC and our programs, see the ARC Youth Player Welcome Packet located at
the ARC web site home page under “Forms”.

forms will need to be turned into your team’s administrator.

USA Rugby CIPP Registration

participating in practice or matches. It not only registers the player with USA
Rugby but it provides liability coverage for all participants. For a
step-by-step process on how to “Self CIPP”, see How to CIPP Register with USA Rugby. Don’t forget to print off a hard copy and turn it in
to your team administrator.
Note: there is a fee with
registration, $20 for U-19 and U-17 players (Girls U17/19 are
free this season), $10 for the U-15/U-13/U-11 players and $5 for U9

ARC Youth Waiver & Photo

This form is located under the
“Forms” link on the ARC web site home page and is titled
ARC Youth Waiver & Youth Photo Release Form and will
need to be filled out and signed prior to a player participating in practice or
matches.
Please remember the form needs
to be signed in 2 places: once for the participating waiver and once for the
photo release.
Other Required Paperwork
Copies of the
player’s health insurance card ($100,000 minimum coverage), and a birth
certificate or passport photo page.
Returning ARC players will not
have to resubmit a copy of their birth certificate/passport page or a photo ID
(if they previously submitted one) since we already have it on file. Returning
players will have to submit a current health insurance card every year.
Note: there is an option for
a player to purchase rugby health insurance if they do not have sufficient
coverage
EQUIPMENT
Players will need kit (covered
in their dues; existing ARC players already have them), cleats (soccer, rugby
or football work fine [note: if the
football cleat has removable cleats, the toe cleat must be removed) and a mouth
guard. Mouth guards are to be worn for every practice. Jerseys are supplied by the club and
distributed then collected every match.
If a player would like to purchase their own, contact Doug Neubauer (alliancerugby@yahoo.com; 817-360-5368).
For more details on required
and optional rugby gear, see the ARC Youth Player Welcome Packet under “New
Player Requirements” “Equipment”.
